About Us

Each week we feature a member/story on the cover of our bulletins to demonstrate how and where we see God at work among us transforming lives as we study and serve.

Exciting summer planned for
college students and young adults

This summer, several of our key teaching pastors have made the commitment to invest in the spiritual development of young adults.

"This team promises to ground you in Gospel-centered teaching and empower you to see all of life as the way to engage in God’s mission," said Scott Lees, who leads the team along with Robbyn Abedi, Jason Hood and Joshua Smith. "There are several different types of Community Life Groups you can connect to depending on the level of commitment you are willing to make."

College Sunday School: meets at 11 a.m. in
Wilson/Ross 306; Joshua Smith, Worship Leader & College Coordinator, teaches on the importance of Gospel-centeredness for the American collegian.

Young Adult Sunday School: meets at 11 a.m. in Wilson/Ross 304; taught by CUMC Scholar-in-Residence Dr. Jason Hood. We’ll tackle what the Word demands of our lives. College students are welcome to attend this class.

Wednesday Night Bible Study: Our new Young Adults Minister and Teaching Associate Robbyn Abedi leads a study just next door at Panera Bread, Wednesdays in June & July, 7:30 p.m.

Life Together: From serving our city to simply enjoying it, Sunday nights this summer will bring something as exciting and unpredictable as life itself. This experience will be led weekly by Christ College Residency interns Austin Freeman and Elizabeth Mischke.

"When I was in college, a pastor instilled something in me I have never forgotten, 'Faith was never meant to be done alone,'" said Robbyn. "The reality is God made us to share life, first and foremost with Him, and then respond to each other with love and community. My encouragement for every college student and young adult this summer: Be intentional and make every effort to connect with what’s going on."
