Give all your worries and cares to God, for He cares about what happens to you. (1 Peter 5:7)
We believe that as seekers and believers, we all yearn to be drawn more deeply into the heart of God. Prayer is the way to do that. As we enter into prayer with God, our lives are transformed. We learn to listen to God’s voice. We experience God’s presence throughout daily life. We share our concerns for others with God and entrust others to God’s love.
Men’s Prayer Breakfast
Every Friday morning the men of the church and community meet at 6:30 a.m. in Seabrook Hall for breakfast ($5), a short devotional and intercessory prayer. The prayer time concludes by 8 a.m. Come and join us!
National and International Day of Prayer
Join others in Wilson Chapel on the first Thursday in May and the first Sunday in November to pray for the world, our nation and its leaders. Service times to be announced.
Prayer Companions
With our clergy’s invitation, pray with people who want special prayer after worship services. Prayer Companions will stand outside the prayer rooms in Seabrook Hall and the Sanctuary, wearing a purple ribbon.
Seasons of the Heart
Every four to six weeks, participants will receive a list of prayer requests that come through Christ Church. These intercessors have the opportunity to pray for prayer concerns that we receive from our church, community and missionaries.
24-Hour Prayer Lifeline
Anyone can call the Prayer Lifeline and submit a request. Volunteers access the requests called into the Lifeline from any touchtone phone and pray at home for these concerns. They commit to pray for one hour each week for a year.
Weekday Prayer in Wilson Chapel
Anyone may come to Wilson Chapel each weekday morning at 7 a.m. and pray for Christ United Methodist Church and personal concerns. Wilson Chapel will be open and available for prayer all morning and usually throughout the day. Parents may also pray in Reeves Chapel with their children if they desire to pray out loud. If Wilson Chapel is occupied, the Sanctuary, Seabrook Hall, Reeves Chapel or the Prayer Room will be available.
E-Prayer
Participants will receive e-prayer requests throughout the week as they come into the prayer office. These may be prayed for at home or at any location.
Prayer for the Services
Intercessors commit to pray for the service during the service two Sundays each year. This prayer time enhances the services and blesses the people in the congregation, as well as those interceding.
