Drivers for The Neighborhood School

On holidays and other special times, this urban school in Binghampton needs volunteers to drive 15-passenger bus to French Camp Academy in MS to bring students home to spend time with their families. Refugee Empowerment Program, Childcare Needed (Mon.-Thurs., 5:30-7pm)

Many refugee parents have small children and need someone to care for them while they take ESL classes. Join this partner as they offer on-site childcare for these parents so they can freely attend these very important classes.

Volunteers Needed for Parents Night Out - Special Needs Ministry
Parents of Special Needs children are able to drop their child off in a loving, Christian environment, while they are able to run errands or have a quiet dinner. Volunteers are needed to assist children during dinner and help with the various activities such as games, arts and crafts, basketball and fellowship.
Commitment time: One Friday a month

As Christ Church continues its partnership with Bellevue’s Mobile Dental Clinic, we are looking for someone with administrative skills to work alongside other volunteers to organize a 3-day clinic. Task includes include scheduling the event, collecting necessary paperwork, and communication with the host church.

Fitness Instructors/Trainers

Athletic Ministry is looking for people who would like to use fitness as a tool to reach others for Jesus Christ and help others take care of  the temple of the Holy Spirit that God provides each one of us to dwell within (1 Corinthians 6:19-20).  It will give you an opportunity to serve Him physically and spiritually through classes and one-on-one training.  Athletic Ministry can help you get certified as a fitness instructor, personal trainer and as a Shepherd Coach Instructor/Trainer. 
Commitment Time: Once certified we would like you to devote 1 - 2 hours per week to the church fitness program as a Shepherd Coach Instructor/Trainer.

Welcome Point Greeters
We are looking for friendly people to greet visitors, answer questions, and/or assist attendees with sign-up sheets for various ministry events.

People are needed to pray during the worship services. This prayer time enhances the services and blesses the people in the congregation, as well as those interceding.

Participants will receive e-prayer requests throughout the week, as they come into the prayer office. These may be prayed for at home or at any location away from the CUMC campus. We appreciate these intercessors.

ESL Instructors

The Refugee Empowerment Program needs people to teach and assist their English as Second Language (ESL) classes to adult refugees. They currently need instructors on Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday from 5:30pm - 7:00pm, and Tuesday and Thursday from 11:00am - 12:30pm. Volunteers also needed to keep the nursery while parents are in class.

Sunday School Children’s Coordinators

Children's Ministry is in need for two SS coordinators (one for preschool and one for the elementary ages) at 10:45 a.m. on Sundays. SS Coordinators help us to oversee that classes on Sundays are maintained which is a vital link between the office and the teachers.

We have openings at all ages during both the 9:30 and 10:45 Sunday school hours. You don't have to be a school teacher to be a Sunday school teacher—just come to training and see.
Commitment Time: approximately one hour during the 9:30 and 10:45 Sunday school hours and one-two hours during the week to prepare.

Children's Music Leader
Our 9:31 Sunday school hour has a 30-minute time for group worship for children from age 3-2nd grade. To continue this time of celebration, we need a team of individuals who will rotate throughout the months. Training is offered in the words, motions and CD player. Although a musical sense is needed, we provide you with the support that will guarantee your success.
Commitment time: approximately 30 minutes during 9:31 Sunday school
